| On Aug. 13, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) published the final regulation mandating sprinklers in all nursing homes. The regulation went into effect Oct. 14, and all nursing homes must be fully sprinklered by Aug. 13, 2013. The Nursing Home Life Safety Code section on the AAHSA website includes an update prepared by our life safety consultant that addresses facility requirements and timelines related to this final rule. |
