American Baptist Homes of the Midwest (ABHM) has been providing health care, affordable housing and supportive services to people of many ages, cultures and conditions for almost 80 years. ABHM seeks a creative and proactive leader to join our leadership environment which values employee engagement, quality services, stewardship and mission effectiveness. We are looking for an engaging and experienced Administrator for our Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Harlan, Iowa. This CCRC offers 33 independent apartments, 32 assisted living units and 71 nursing beds (including dementia care).The Administrator provides leadership for all departments and services within the Elm Crest Retirement Community. The successful candidate will also possess a passion for culture change and service delivery models such as the Eden Alternative.

• Qualified candidates will have:
• Current Iowa Nursing Home Administrator's license, eligibility for license
• Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, or equivalent
• Five or more years’ successful experience as Administrator with CCRC and/or skilled care/Medicare/Medicaid organization
• Thorough understanding and experienced application of appropriate regulations, laws and standards
• Demonstrated success in resident satisfaction, census building, staff retention, and fiscal management
• Well-rounded and collaborative management style that fosters creativity and successful achievement of goals
• Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels
• Hands-on experience as a change agent with Eden Alternative is a definite plus
